Libre Space Foundation (LSF)
The Libre Space Foundation, founded in 2015, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting open-source technologies and democratising access to space. It achieves this by fostering collaborative projects, developing open hardware and software, and building communities around free and open space technologies. The foundation supports initiatives ranging from designing and launching open-source PocketQubes to creating, running and maintaining the world’s biggest open-source Network of satellite ground stations and developing software for data analysis. Its impact lies in empowering individuals, organisations, satellite and University teams worldwide to participate in space exploration and research, lowering the barriers to entry in the space sector, and fostering a global community of open-source space enthusiasts.
